Introduction to the CoronaSports Aid Website

Website Idea

This website is based on a very current and significant issue that is affecting nearly everyone in the world at the moment. The COVID – 19 pandemic is a topic which has a lot of people understandably worried and there is a lot of uncertainty at the moment. Which is why at present many events and hobbies have gone to the back of peoples minds as there are more pressing and serious issues occurring at this point in time. For almost every person there have been plans that have had to be rescheduled or cancelled in the mist of this current crisis.

Almost every section of society has been forced to a stand still, for now, and sport is one of them that has had to hit the pause button temporarily. But just because sport is not ongoing it doesn’t mean that has stopped having an impact on society and peoples lives. The power and influence of sport has meant that it has been able to help those who are in need of it, especially now.

I believe it is important for us to be aware of the amazing work that those within sport have been doing.

Sport personalities

Many sports stars and personalities have been making donations and have created foundations to give a helping hand during the corona-virus pandemic. Content on this website will include categories of multiple sports which contain individual athletes within those sports. I will be referencing news articles in blog type profile posts as well as including social media posts of charitable activity.

Sports News

This section of the website will involve latest news on sporting events that have been rescheduled, postponed or cancelled such as the Premier League and Wimbledon.

This will also offer the latest news and announcement made by sporting bodies such as the LTA (Lawn Tennis Assocation), PDC (Professional Darts Cooperation) and the FA (Football Association).

Sports Venues

This is going to be an insightful section with exclusive information withheld from sports centres where some of them are turning into temporary hospitals. This will range from elite venues such as the Etihad (Manchester City F.C stadium) to more regional and local venues for the general public.

Exercise

Although this is more of an additional section which brings an extra dimension to the website, it is really important more than ever that we are looking after our health and staying fit. This will include material such as home workout videos along with fitness tutorial videos from YouTube.

There will also be an insight into professional athletes home fitness programmes and how they are staying in shape during quarantine.
